Thanksgiving is just around the corner and we have been learning about the first Thanksgiving. The students enjoyed making a bracelet that symbolizes the first Thanksgiving between the pilgrims and Native Americans. We also had fun making our cut out turkeys and learning about the teepees and pueblos that the Native Americans lived in.

50th Day of Kindergarten and the First Thanksgiving
Wow it is hard to believe we have already had 50 days of kindergarten!!! Time is going so fast for us :) We had a blast celebrating the 50th day of kindergarten 50's style. The students had a sock hop, bowling, bubble blowing contest, and hula hooping to celebrate the 50's. I had to explain that things in the 50's were much different then now. We also did record patterning and enjoyed coke floats. The students had a hard time believing there were no computers and people would actually wear poodle skirts! The biggest hit of the day was the saddle shoes that I borrowed from another teacher :) Here are some pictures of our celebration:
